La gestión del conocimiento en la innovación de PYMES de calzado en Tungurahua

The present research studies the links between knowledge management and innovation in nine footwear SMEs in Tungurahua, the research addresses the knowledge management and innovation as determinants of competitiveness of companies, in addition, is taken in consideration the little interest presented by small and medium enterprises in investing and research as well as in patenting their products, this research analyzes these shortcomings as part of a routine organizational culture and exposes models to transform the culture of the companies and to focus them towards the innovation. It is important to consider that the innovation comes from the generation of knowledge in the companies, nevertheless in the Tungurahua footwear SMEs the necessity has been the factor that forced them to make improvements or to include other products in the market as the orthopedic, industrial or urban footwear. These companies are considered innovative although their innovation is not accompanied by technical studies, but comes from tacit knowledge, which is obtained from the experience.
