(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2020-08) Villarroel Herrera, Cinthya Lizbeth; Quiroga López, Malena Karina
The purpose of this research is to know if gender identity influences the resilience of LGBTI + people, deprived of liberty in the men's section of the Rehabilitation Social Center Regional Sierra Centro Norte Cotopaxi, where the main problem lies in analyzing how People defined as LGBT + have been building their gender identity and how this process has helped to build the resilient capacity of this group of people. In Ecuador, the number of persons deprived of liberty every day is widespread, however, there is no certain number of how many people with different gender identities are recruited in prisons since this group is difficult to identify due to Different social and personal factors. It has been considered important to take into account the variables gender identity and resilience because they are important factors for the personal development of an individual within society, information has been collected through a mixed approach taking into account techniques and instruments that we allow to test the hypothesis raised, with the participation of 12 people openly declared LGBTI + within the men's sections of the liberty deprivation center, the same ones that have been interviewed and applied a Connor-Davidson resilience test (CD-RISC 25) in order to obtain results. The results indicated that there is no relationship between resilience and gender identity, gender identity is formed by several personal and social factors, however, despite the fact that people with different gender identity have high levels of resilience, there is a close relationship between them.
