The woman with the passage of time has acquired new knowledge and skills that have allowed the incursion in new roles and spaces that have contributed to the work of society. However, economic, social, political, racial and even religious conditions have hampered the career of women in many sectors of production, thereby generating a competitive disadvantage in the labor market. One of the tasks of the university is its direct relationship with society and its orientation in favor of structural changes, therefore, the present research work allows identifying the symbolic, cultural, legal and social factors of the "glass ceiling" in women's access to managerial positions. One of the main findings of the glass ceiling is hidden under a militarized and masculinized structure, represented by a minimum number of women in management positions, displaced occupational precarious skills, knowledge and skills of women so that it can reach positions of Rector or Vice Rector, however, self-discrimination is a threat that is evident in the lack of responsibility of women in positions of responsibility.
