(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-20) Vargas Cevallos Stefanny Lisbeth; Morales Jaramillo María Belén; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica
The present research analyzes how the use of augmented reality influences academic performance in the subject of Natural Sciences with seventh grade students of Basic General Education of the “Francisco Flor” Educational Unit in the city of Ambato. A pre-experimental design with a mixed approach was used, using as instruments, surveys and pre- and post-tests to the implementation of AR in a population of 69 students and their respective teachers. Obtained as a result that reality significantly increased motivation, understanding, retention of information, concentration in class, in addition to promoting teamwork. The research highlights that, despite the limited experience of students and teachers under the RA, its implementation had a positive impact on the perception of the teaching-learning process, evidencing improvements in student grades. However, several challenges were identified such as the lack of teacher training and technological resources. It is thus concluded that the augmented reality tool is effective and innovative since it enriches education and improves academic performance, which is why its incorporation is recommended as a strategy to motivate and capture the attention of students.
