    “Distorsiones cognitivas y estrés en estudiantes universitarios”

    The main objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between cognitive distortions and stress in university students. This study is non - experimental, descriptive and correlational, which has allowed the statistical analysis and hypothesis testing. The sample that was taken into consideration was 114 university students who began their pre-professional practices composed of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato, through the Inventory of automatic thoughts (IPA) to identify cognitive distortions and Inventory SISCO of academic stress V2 to evaluate the level of stress prevalent among those evaluated. The results indicate that the cognitive distortions are related to the academic stress to which they are exposed in their practices and regular university classes, being the most frequent distortions the catastrophic vision, fallacy of change and should, in terms of the level of stress that predominated the moderate
