(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-06-28) Valencia Muñoz, Vanessa Maribel; Robalino Morales, Gabriela Estefanía
Aging worsens the physical functionality and motor skills of older adults incorporating walking speed, strength and balance. Determine what is the help to the balance of the elderly with the intervention of double and single task exercises. During the development of the research we can realize that there is a large elderly population and which must be attended to implement strategies that promote the practice of physical exercise, physical activity and the prevention of obesity, through exercise it was possible to manage balance with the implementation of a program of exercises of double and single task, due to the various consequences generated by dependence on older adults with respect to physical, psychological and social health, both of older adults, their families and society, in which older adults have been found to lose their independence, consequently few enjoy life fully. The exercise program is composed of 3 phases that lasted 16 weeks distributed according to the type of exercise in series, with a duration of 10, to 45 minutes for each exercise established in the program.Physical performance deteriorates over the years partly due to disuse of the musculoskeletal system, predisposing to balance and gait problems. Directing attention requires effort and temporary voluntary control, however, at any given time fatigue can occur and distraction may arise.
