(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud- Carrera de Terapia Física, 2017-08-01) Valdivieso Castro, Lorena Elizabeth Lorena Elizabeth; Ortíz Villalba, Paola Gabriela Lcda. Mg.
Musculoskeletal pathologies are highly prevalent in the public attention units of the Canton Baños being the first cause of disability affecting their quality of life of the population. The objective of this research is to establish the prevalence of musculoskeletal pathologies in the public health care units of Canton Baños. The study was done in seven public health care units in the same Canton. However, the private institutions didn’t have the authorization to give us the data, therefore their information is not included in this investigation. This study is transverse descriptive because the data collection was performed once. The data was tabulated using the data collection according to the CIE-10.We worked with a population of 3229 people who came to the different public attention units demonstrating that there is a prevalence of musculoskeletal pathologies of 16.1% in the Canton Baños. The results indicated that the most prevalent diseases were lumbago not specified with 1.9% and neuralgia and neuritis not specified with 1.2%. These pathologies are more prevalent in women from 65 years old.
