    Determinación del Marcador Tumoral CA 19,9 PRE y Post Quimioterapia, y su Relación con el Factor Pronóstico en los Pacientes con Cáncer Gástrico que acuden al Laboratorio Clínico del Hospital Dr. Julio Enrique Paredes Solca Tungurahua

    This research project aimed to determine the values of the tumor marker CA 19.9 pre and post chemotherapy and prognostic factor related to the patients with gastric cancer of the hospital Dr. Julio Enrique Paredes Solca Tungurahua, the aim was to encourage medical oncologists of the institution, the importance of using such tumor marker in monitoring patients with gastric cancer to discuss developments they presented according to the treatment to which they were subjected. In terms of methodology, the focus of the work was qualitative, using field research, laboratory and analytical research level longitudinal cohort study with explanatory and not experimental. We worked with 50 patients suffering from gastric cancer established by certain criteria. In reviewing the medical records of the U.O.S.T. 60% of patients were male while 40% were female, the average age was 60 to 80 years. 68% of patients had stage IIIB gastric adenocarcinoma. Most patients were receiving chemotherapy neoabyubante. At the end of the investigation marker down 92%, and an increase in the post-treatment remaining 8% being observed cases showed disease progression.
