    “Determinación de cortisol sérico y su relación con el síndrome de burnout en choferes profesionales”

    This research was conducted in drivers’ union urban transport "Los Libertadores" to who underwent two takes blood samples am and pm, same that were analyzed in the clinical laboratory "Moya & Espín", whose main objective was the determination of serum cortisol and its relationship with burnout syndrome present in the drivers of the aforementioned cooperative. For the selection of the study population were surveyed, Test Maslach as an aid in verifying suffering from burnout syndrome in drivers and measurement of serum cortisol in order to verify compliance with the inclusion criteria are established work with patients between 30-70 years of age and who work more than 3 years in the cooperative Monday through Friday, in order to meet the objectives types of research used was descriptive and correlational. The data obtained yielded quantitative results, the implementation of the survey and the test gave us qualitative information. It was concluded that the 45 drivers in am hours (7 to 8 am) have 100% serum cortisol within the normal range of 5 to 23 ug / dL. While in hours pm (4 pm) 45 66.7% drivers have slightly elevated levels of serum cortisol due to stress factors that could be defined by the survey such as traffic 66.7%, 37.8% traffic officer noise 24.4%, another cooperative drivers 22.2%, travel time 20.0%, and 73.3 of the drivers say that the most stressful times are in the afternoon, 33.3% present values normal serum cortisol in the range of 3 to 13 ug / dL because they were the owners of their own units and already were coupled to your daily routine. According to the analysis given of the first test subscales of the Maslach in terms of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization it was concluded that 35.56% suffer from high burnout syndrome, 51.11% moderate risk and low risk By filling the 13.33% test if verified that Burnout syndrome in urban bus drivers is present. After analyzing the results of serum cortisol pm we can determine if a relationship exists between the high values of this analyte with test results relating it Maslach Burnout syndrome.
