ABSTRACT The Río Verde hydroelectric power station is fed by the river that bears the same name that rises from the Llanganatis mountain range and is made up of small tributaries, in the rainy season they cause landslides, alluvium and landslides, facts that directly affect the riverbed of the river. river inducing flash floods with very high amounts of stony sediments, sand, tree trunks and other plant debris, which influences the flow of water, making it difficult to monitor and catchment system, for this reason the objective of this research is to develop a monitoring system of the hydrological basin of the Muyo River, which allows providing the Río Verde Chico hydroelectric plant with a panoramic view of events in real time. Among the main results of the application of automatic control and monitoring of the water collection system in the Río Verde Chico hydraulic plant, the response of the personnel working at the Hydroelectric Plant in the event of critical events was optimized. The continuous monitoring process was established at parameters such as: water level in each stage of attraction, water turbidity, control of the opening or closing of the gates responsible for the entry or exit of the flow; The data obtained allowed taking appropriate and timely actions for the correct operation of the water collection system and the electricity generation plant.
