    This research focused on developing a methodology to evaluate tools that use Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) applied to the teaching of productive writing skills in the English language. The main motivation was the growing integration of these technologies in the educational field and the need for a systematic approach to assess their effectiveness. The primary objective of the research was to create a solid and reliable methodology to evaluate GAI tools in the context of English writing. Furthermore, a series of evaluation criteria were developed based on key aspects such as functionality, compatibility, interaction, reliability, scalability, licensing, documentation, and support. These criteria were applied to a selected set of tools, which were evaluated using a structured and detailed process. For data collection, a protocol was implemented to gather essential information about the performance and features of the evaluated tools. This protocol facilitated the collection of initial data needed to analyze in detail the capabilities of the tools and their effectiveness in the area of English writing
