Item Análisis de recubrimientos anticorrosivos aplicados a los aceros Q235B y su incidencia en la tasa de corrosión, en el sistema de agua potable de la ciudad de Riobamba provincia de Chimborazo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Maestría en Mecánica Mención Diseño, 2020) Amancha Torres, Hugo Fabián; Paredes Robalino, María BelénThe investigation studied several anticorrosive coatings applied to Q235 steel, and the effects of the corrosion rate with the help of the salt spray chamber. The applied coatings are products known in the market and are AWWA C210 / 92 certified epoxy-food grade; because the pipe is used in the Drinking Water System of the City of Riobamba. The samples to be analyzed contain three different types of substrate cleaning prior to coating application and two types of coating application. For the present study, we will refer to the ASTM B117 standards, which details the necessary guidelines for accelerated corrosion tests in a salt spray chamber. According to ASTM D610, the degree of corrosion presented by the samples was indicated. And based on the ASTM G1 standard, the corrosion rate of each specimen was calculated. This analysis helped us compare and establish the best corrosion protection methods for Q235B carbon steel. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2018) Toapanta Muyulema, Luis Alfredo; Paredes Robalino, María BelénThe research project was based on the mechanical characterization of the material composed of epoxy resin and polypropylene fiber, with different configurations such as the length of the reinforcement that in this case was used short fiber of 10mm and long fibers of 54mm with random and longitudinal distributions In addition, different volumetric fractions (80-20%, 75-25%, 70-30%) were used, corresponding to the percentage of the matrix and reinforcement, respectively, in order to establish the composite material with the best performance in the traction, bending and impact, for its later application in the industry. Tensile, bending and impact tests were performed under ASTM D3039, ASTM D7464, ASTM D5628, respectively. With the data of the tensile tests a first evaluation was made to determine the materials that pass to the following tests of flexion and impact, the same as the materials of the case 1.- 80% Matrix - 20% Reinforcement, short fiber of polypropylene (10mm), random orientation, case 2.- 80% Matrix - 20% Reinforcement, polypropylene long fiber (54mm), longitudinal orientation, case 3.- 75% Matrix - 25% Reinforcement, polypropylene short fiber (10mm) ), random orientation and case 6.- 70% Matrix - 30% Reinforcement, long polypropylene fiber (54mm), longitudinal orientation. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2024-01) Cholota Chaglla, Jonathan Gonzalo; Paredes Robalino, María BelénThe company Carrocerias Altamirano has allowed an exhaustive analysis of the equipment and machinery used in its manufacturing and repair operations with the problem that it does not currently have a preventive maintenance model specifically designed to ensure optimum performance and prolonged useful life of its essential assets. With this idea in mind, the present research work is proposed; with the purpose of approaching a methodology of a mixed nature, since it is based on both a qualitative and quantitative model. It is essential to highlight that the creation of a model aimed at identifying the parameters for the maintenance plan of the machinery of Carrocerias Altamirano required the use of a broad bibliographic base to specify each aspect related to preventive and corrective activities within the company. Additionally, the condition of the machines was evaluated by means of the prevention technical note NTP 679, and statistical data from previous years were used to detail the availability of the machines. Once these data were analyzed, they were incorporated into the FMEA matrix to determine the priority risk number NPR, and from that perspective to obtain an estimate of reliability and availability for the application of a CMMS model. It is noteworthy that the current evaluation of the condition of the machines at Carrocerías Altamirano indicates that the vast majority of them are in semi-optimal condition and show high performance of 78 percent. A list of the machines and equipment in service was made, obtaining information on their condition, brand, year of manufacture and location, thus discovering an updated inventory and at the same time identifying the most used machines and the most prone to fail such as: the four elevators, a hydraulic press, an air compressor, a pedestal drill and a GMAW welder, information was collected such as: its technical characteristics, specifications, main components and an identification code will be completed, thus forming the technical sheets; the maintenance statistic was calculated with the work times from January to December 2022, in the case of elevators the period from October 2022 to May 2023 was used, information provided by the company with which the bathtub curve was obtained; The AMFE and criticality matrix was established, identifying its failure modes, causes, effects and giving ratings from which the most critical were obtained and the percentages of confidence and unreliability were analyzed. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2024-06) Arguello Miguez, Geovanny Adrian; Paredes Robalino, María BelénThis technical project was developed to implement a maintenance plan based on the total productive maintenance (TPM) methodology; to prolong the useful life of the components of the equipment and machines that are part of the production line, improving the organization of production in order to avoid unnecessary stoppages in the production lines. The information gathering was carried out, which consisted of carrying out an inventory of the machines and equipment to know the amount of equipment, the coding and the state in which they are found, then through the TPM, the “5S” was applied, selection of equipment and pilot machines for the respective maintenance aircraft; In addition, the failure modal analysis and effects matrix (FMEA) was carried out for each of the components, determining the possible failures of the equipment and the criticality analysis of the same, and with the maintenance ranges using specialized software that specializes in failure prevention activities taking into consideration the frequency and time to subsequently allow the objective of implementing the maintenance plan to be developed. As a result, the execution of an annual preventive maintenance plan was obtained with the activities that were organized for the various components, complying with the estimated times and operating frequency for one year; in addition to implementing a continuous improvement system with the TPM philosophy, involving both operators and maintenance personnel.Item Estudio de las vibraciones mecánicas en el personal de operación de maquinaria pesada del EPM-GIDSA y su incidencia en las condiciones laborales(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Maestría en Diseño Mecánico, 2016) Paredes Robalino, María Belén; Córdova Suarez, Manolo AlexanderThe present research work aims the study of mechanical vibrations caused by heavy machinery on the staff who operates it at the EPM - GIDSA and its incidence on their working conditions. Thanks to the hypothetic - deductive method, it was proved that the operators of heavy machinery are exposed to high dose of mechanical vibrations affecting directly the orthogonal axis hand – arm, which is of 1,10 to their right and left hands, and a dose of 1.18 to their whole body. The study indicates that the exposition to high levels of vibration affects their working conditions. With the found results, it is necessary to develop a plan of maintenance of heavy machinery to prevent more damages on the operating staff, eliminating mechanical vibrations through the correct use of protective equipment.Item Estudio del recocido en el hierro fundido gris y su incidencia en la dureza(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2011) Paredes Robalino, María Belén; Vaca Ortega, Wilson HenryEl presente trabajo detalla el estudio del Recocido en el Hierro Fundido Gris y su incidencia en la dureza, en las fundidoras de nuestra ciudad no se realiza ningún tratamiento térmico en las piezas fundidas, razón por la cual se ha propuesto realizar el siguiente trabajo, el cuál es de gran utilidad al momento de optar por un tratamiento térmico para el Hierro Fundido Gris. Para la ejecución del trabajo, se ha realizado una investigación totalmente experimental basada en bibliografía, pruebas y ensayos, los cuales fueron realizados en la Universidad Técnica de Ambato, en los Laboratorios de Materiales de la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica. Con la investigación se ha establecido que el Recocido en el Hierro Fundido Gris se debe realizar a una temperatura de 754ºC, durante 4 horas y el enfriamiento debe ser en el horno, lográndose con esto que se disminuya la dureza pero que el material mejore la ductilidad y tenacidad, lo cual es bueno para el Hierro Fundido Gris porque ya no va a ser tan frágil, y se le puede dar mejores aplicaciones para las industrias.
