    Burnout y su relación con la depresión en los profesionales de salud

    The Burnout Syndrome is a disease that has direct implication with a large part of the world population, including health professionals, as well as depression, considered as a mood disorder with physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms. The present study seeks to determine the relationship between Burnout Syndrome and depression. For this purpose, a quantitative, descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional study was decided upon. A total of 229 health professionals from the province of Tungurahua belonging to District 18D02 participated, distributed as follows: 27.16% correspond to men and 72.84% women, with an average of 37,5 in terms of age. Those who were administered the Questionnaire for the Evaluation of the Syndrome of Burning by Work (CESQT), and the Zung Depression Self-Application Test. The results reveal that 60.1% of the participants have average levels of Burnout Syndrome, while for the Depression variable, a total of 182 evaluated have range normal in depression, followed by 44 with mild depression, the Spearman Rho correlation statistical test reflected a slight positive relationship (r = .157: p <0.17). It is concluded that the levels of the Burnout Syndrome and the dimensions: illusion for work and mental exhaustion, can favor the appearance of depression in low ranges.
