Item RELACIÓN ENTRE LA POTENCIA MÁXIMA ANAERÓBICA Y LA POTENCIA MÁXIMA NEUROMUSCULAR EN CICLISTAS AMATEUR DE DOWNHILL(2026-07-01) Pérez Morales, María Belén; Díaz Guevara, Patricio Hernán; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de FisioterapiaDownhill cycling is a highly demanding sport characterized by high-speed descents on irregular terrain and technical obstacles, where athlete performance and safety depend on multiple physiological and neuromuscular capacities. Currently, there is growing scientific interest in studying factors related to sports performance and injury prevention; however, available evidence concerning amateur Downhill cyclists remains limited. In this context, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between maximum anaerobic power and maximum neuromuscular or explosive power in amateur Downhill cyclists. This research followed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, non-experimental methodology, and cross-sectional scope. The sample consisted of 30 amateur cyclists from the Gran Puñalica DH Team selected through census sampling. Maximum anaerobic power was assessed using the Wingate Test through a Bkool smart trainer and Zwift software, while maximum neuromuscular or explosive power was evaluated using the Countermovement Jump (CMJ) test with an Axon Jump platform. The study was conducted within the Human Health research line and the Injury subline. As a scientific contribution, this research provides evidence in a population with limited previous investigation, demonstrating that both capacities present independent physiological behavior within this sports discipline. The findings may guide future functional assessments and contribute to the development of specific training and injury prevention strategies adapted to the physiological profile of Downhill cyclists.
