This technical project describes a plan to generate electricity using the wind resources of Ecuador. In the first instance a brief explanation is indicated regarding renewable energies, especially wind energy and its importance. The next step is an investigation on the operation of the wind turbines that will accommodate the generation of energy in a social interest housing. An analysis of the area in question is necessary, specifically the wind speeds presented during the days of the research work, as well as other considerations for subsequent data such as: atmospheric pressure and air temperature of the measurement stations. closest to the place. Continuing, the design of the proposed system for the implementation in the home in the future is dimensioned and planned, previously the most important variables such as economic, technical and meteorological to carry out this project. Subsequently, a cost-benefit analysis of the system is proposed, compared with the traditional electrical system implemented by the public electricity company, thus determining the advantages and disadvantages of the wind system. In the future, the specific information in this thesis project is expected to provide sufficient technical knowledge to carry out the practice of a wind energy application in Ecuador, not only at the level of single-family and multi-family housing, but at large industries and large systems in general, since it is a clean energy that will benefit the country.
