    The objective of this research is to determine the impact that exists between the operational risk and the profitability of the credit unions, for which we will start with a definition of risk, which is nothing more than uncertainty and power inability predict the future. In a daily activity can generate a negative effect, due to ignorance or wrong decision making. Financial risks at present have become a challenge to be overcome by financial institutions, which face several types of risks such as: credit risk, liquidity, market, legal, and operational, with the latter being the More relevant, but perhaps the least known and administered. Within operational risk is several factors that affect its normal functioning as is the case of technology, people, external and internal events, these being aggravating factors that cause significant monetary losses within financial institutions. Credit unions , Have had no other option to manage and manage the risks, have focused on the detection of events that affect the normal operation of the same, due to the increase in financial institutions that exceed the thousand entities currently.
