(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía, 2025-01-20) Ortiz Panata Yajaira Marbey; Mayorga Ases María José; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía
The present study was developed in the Educational Unit “Leonardo Murialdo” in the city of Ambato. The purpose of this study was to determine how social skills influence collaborative learning of students in basic general education. In Chapter I, the theoretical framework was developed, emphasizing the importance, characteristics, types, and dimensions of the variables under study. In addition, a relationship was made between social skills and behaviorism, and collaborative learning was related to constructivism and the impact on Ecuadorian academic performance, after an exhaustive bibliographic search. For Chapter II, a mixed descriptive, correlational, exploratory, and cross-sectional methodology was established. The instruments identified for the development of this study were: Goldstein's social skills scale for the first variable and Johnson and Johnson's collaborative learning questionnaire for the second variable. As for the results obtained from these two instruments applied were detailed in Chapter III, to develop this section the responses collected were analyzed by means of a tabulation in Excel and for the validation of the hypothesis the Chisquare statistic was applied, this allowed demonstrating a significant correlation between Social Skills and Collaborative Learning. Finally, Chapter IV presented the conclusions reached with this study and the recommendations that will allow the acquisition, development, and improvement of the skills necessary for any situation.
