This investigation pretends to be an important contribution in the teaching-learning process of English as a second language and at the same time, it promotes the autonomous work of students using different techniques. This investigation allows teachers to adapt it to their necessities. After getting information through direct observation and surveys about Total Physical Response Method and its influence in developing the skills listening and speaking from “Manuela Espejo school”, from Ambato city, Tungurahua province, it was easy to identify that students were willing to talk in English, but they felt demotivated because teacher do not use different activities such as: role plays, dialogues, conversation, songs and videos. As a solution to the problem, it was necessary to create a handbook to develop the speaking and listening skills of English as a second language, using different activities, materials and promoting the autonomous work of student, this will help students to achieve a good level. It is necessary to learn this language as soon as students can in order to help them with developing communication skills, all of this with the objective of promoting the competences and satisfy the educative necessities of the country.
