(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-09) Molina Nogales, Mauricio Alejandro; Castro Solórzano, Fidel Alberto
In this experimental work, the type methodology was applied: explanatory, hypothetical, deductive, transversal and pre-experimental period, for data collection, information was collected from the treatment plant on its location and the unit processes it has, observing that the plant currently has four hydraulic elements, which show deterioration in the structures in addition to the presence of vegetation due to poor maintenance. To take measurements of the flows at the entrance and exit of the WWTP, the volumetric method was used, for Lastly, the collection of wastewater samples was carried out for the analysis of the physicochemical characteristics that were analyzed in a laboratory, later the comparison was made with the maximum permissible limits established by the current TULSMA 2015 regulations, where it was possible to verify that the Demand Biochemistry of Oxygen, Oils and Fats, Phosphorus Tot al and Suspended Solids do not comply with current regulations, considering that the plant is not working efficiently given that the removal of contaminants is low. Due to what was stated in the results, it was decided to make a proposal for the redesign of the WWTP, which consists of a screening system, sand trap, septic tank, sludge drying bed, FAFA and disinfection, which aims to contribute to the improvement of each one of the WWTP processes and that it fulfills the function for which it was built.
