The present bibliographic review proposed to define the processes of nutritional evaluation in chronic renal patients, by means of a bibliographic review in databases, in order to identify the modifiable factors in the progression of the disease. Systematic review scientific articles, case studies, cohort studies, randomized trials of qualitative, quantitative and descriptive approach were used. The method of elaboration was carried out with the PRISMA model, allowing the evaluation of the effects in the interventions reviewed. The inclusion criteria were: study period within the last 5 years, subject matter, reliability, studies conducted in pre-transplant patients. Exclusion criteria were: journals without indexation, hypotheses with low evidence, temporality. The results indicate that an integral assessment of patients with CKD allows not only to reduce the progression of the disease but also to improve the quality of life, as well as self-care, nutritional education and healthy habits. Effective screening of risk factors for disease progressioncan avoid the comorbidities of the disease, focusing treatment on prevention strategies applied atthe hospital level as well as at home.
