Item “Determinación de alfa-1-placentaria en ruptura prematura de membranas y su correlación con la cristalografía”.(2017-08-01) Miranda Delgado, Christian Andrés; Dra. Lozada Núñez, Pride JanetPremature rupture of membranes (RPM) may be a difficult diagnosis to confirm. The doctor's uncertainty often leads to unnecessary intervention for risk management reasons. The objective of the present study is to compare the crystallography test with an immunoassay to determine alpha-placental microglobulin-1 (PAMG-1), in relation to an evaluation of clinical utility. It was a prospective, observational study of 60 women with a history of Hidrorrea, who underwent the two tests mentioned above. The crystallography as a diagnostic method showed only 52.6% of true positive diagnoses, 54.5% of false positives and only 45.5% of true negative, the detection of 1-placental alpha had a sensitivity of 100%. PAMG-1 is clinically useful when the clinician is uncertain about the diagnosis but is not useful when the clinician relies on the diagnosis. The use of PAMG-1 in women where the diagnosis is uncertain is likely to significantly change management.
