(2018) Mazo Ojeda, Bryan Sebastián; Guerrero López, Jorge Ricardo
The objective of the research was to evaluate the toxic effect of Barbasco (Lonchocarpus utilis) on the domestic fly (Musca domestica). The present investigation was carried out in Napo Province, Tena canton in the Shinquipino sector, located 5.37 Km from the city of Tena. The variable that referred to the letal toxic effect was mortality. While the subletal toxic effect was evaluated by pupation time; The treatments evaluated were the concentration of barbasco extract in water, the doses being tested as follows: B0 0% without the inclusion of barbasco extract with B1 1.25% of extract of barbasco; B2 2.5% barbasco extract; B3 5% barbasco extract; B4 7.5% barbasco extract; B5 10% barbasco extract. We used a completely randomized design with split - plot treatments, using the statistical program Statistix version 9.0. For all variables analyzed, treatment B5 and significant differences (P = 0.0001), with In addition, in the residual effect, the values obtained in this treatment were 14% of pupation, pupal sizes of 4 mm and a pupation start 72 hours later that the beginning in the control of the work. Based on the above, it is concluded that a dose of 10% of barbasco extract applied as both larvae and adults of domestic fly causes significant mortalities, in addition to provoking a subletal toxic effect in the surviving individuals constituting a viable alternative for the control of pest exploitations livestock.
