Item Evaluación del control de calidad en el examen general de orina en el laboratorio clínico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2023-03-22) Luna Manobanda, Daniela Belén; Delgado García, María CeciliaThe General Examination of Urine (GEU) is a routine and simple examination, its existence dates from antiquity with great advances to the present. For the processing of the GEU, different phases are carried out, such as preanalytical, analytical and postanalytical. In the preanalytical phase, the highest percentage of errors is identified by the personal health-patient relationship. Quality control in its three phases requires strict vigilance, ensuring reliability in the result. Materials and methods: A descriptive, documentary, non experimental method was carried out through a bibliographic review of different scientific articles and studies related to the theme from 2010 to 2020. Results: According to various bibliographic sources, each of the errors made by health personnel and patients in the different phases of GEU processing is detailed. Discussion: Urine sample is suitable for the processing of the phases when it meets the quality parameters, in the different countries of Latin America there is no implementation of a quality control program at the GEU level due to the high cost of materials and controls. Conclusions and recommendations: In the processing of the GEU, the lack of quality control is detected because it is considered a little explored area and presents a number of shortcomings in the phases, recommending the implementation of a quality control system in order to issue a reliable and important result in the diagnosis of kidney diseases.
