At present, there are no practices related to molds or dies in the Mechanics Career, and theoretical knowledge needs to be completed with practical and experimental knowledge. Therefore, a drawing die for a stainless steel flat plate has been designed and built for the FICM Laboratory. Each mechanical element was designed with recommended parameters, then the materials were acquired, these are made of AISI 4340 steels for the cavity, punch, bushing and columns, AISI 304 for the centering devices and A36 for the other components; For the shrinkage of each element of the drawing die, the necessary parameters were identified to carry out different types of machining such as turning and milling, in addition, a hardening heat treatment was performed on the punch and the cavity, since these two elements are the ones that withstand the greatest pressure; tests were performed on a stainless steel metal plate and the hydraulic press of the FICM laboratory, for which the die was designed. Finally, its functionality was determined by obtaining the flat plate, which did not present any defect. The speed and working pressure should be taken into account, as well as the choice of the springs of the columns, since these factors are relevant at the time of performing the drawing tests; likewise, the moving parts should be lubricated to guarantee the useful life of the die.
