This technical project was implemented in order to obtain the necessary studies and reference budget for construction of an arena for public events and two metal covered for the open arena of Santa Rosa’s town in Ambato city. This study focuses on the use of software AUTODESK INVENTOR PROFESSIONAL 2015 to perform local analysis of welded joints and thus know their actual behavior under the action of loads. Bibliographical research has been conducted in order to obtain fundamental knowledge to use the software; the most significant research was conducted under the theme of the equivalent Von Mises stress, which by a stress tensor allows to know the result of shear, bending and moment forces applied on an infinitesimal element; this thanks to the application of finite element method performed by the program. Thus you can identify graphically in a color scale, the equivalent stress in the element besides knowing a safety factor based on the material strength. Taking as a guideline to the Ecuadorian Construction normative in several of its chapters and the foreign codes, AISC-360-10, ACI-318-14, and AWSD1.1; the necessary criteria and procedures were obtained to make an adequate design of the elements. They have come to draw conclusions and give recommendations for proper use of the software; have a better understanding of the tools provided to the user to generate analysis, detailing and quantify assemblies.
