    The present study aimed at determining the values of progesterone in women enrolled in the first trimester of pregnancy and find the relationship between the presence and risk of threatened miscarriage, for which an analytical, observational, cross-sectional study was performed where it divided the population into a control group which had a normal pregnancy , and the other with abortion; women with age gestational less than 11 weeks, for the sampling found that the patients met the inclusion criteria study population was of 30 patients with an average age of 24 years. Where it was found that the levels of progesterone and the presence of abortion in involuntary course have statistically significant association between mean values (p < 0.0001); patients who have low levels of progesterone are at increased risk of abortion (OR = 1 6 - 2.5 CI = 95%), by which it was concluded that the measurement of progesterone levels in patients with the first trimester of pregnancy complications can facilitate the diagnosis of a non-viable pregnancy.
