Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Guashca Tocumbe, Alex David; Aldás Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThis Technical Project focuses on addressing the needs faced by the inhabitants of the Juigua Yacubamba, Juigua Rayoloma and Juigua La Playa communities, who are dedicated to agriculture and livestock. The main objective was to improve the road infrastructure in order to provide safe circulation, reduce travel time and promote the socioeconomic development of its inhabitants. The project was structured in three specific phases based on the objectives set. The first included field activities, such as field recognition, topographic survey, vehicle counting and the extraction of soil samples through test pits. In the second phase, the geometric design of the road was carried out, taking into consideration the parameters established by current regulations, including the horizontal and vertical design, as well as drainage works, slope and pavement structure. Finally, the third phase focused on the preparation of the reference budget using qualitative and quantitative research as a baseline. Based on the results, an existing mountainous relief was determined and a Third Class collector road was classified with a silty sandy soil which is optimal for use as a subgrade. The pavement structure design is composed of 5 cm thick asphalt, 10 cm thick class 3 base and 20 cm thick class 4 subbase. Finally, in order to know the feasibility of the work by detailing each of the items with their respective work volumes and technical specifications, a reference budget of $1,232,337.07 was estimated. This investment will improve connectivity between the communities and the urban area, promoting economic growth in the communities.
