    Evaluación y multiplicación de las accesiones de fréjol (Phaseolus vulgaris) obtenidas genotípicamente, en la provincia de Pichincha

    This research project was carried out in the province of Pichincha, at the Uyumbichicho-INIAP farm in the Mejía canton, at an altitude of 2,662 meters above sea level. The objective of this research was to evaluate and multiply bean accessions (Phaseolus vulgaris) that were obtained from Saraguro-Loja, previously chosen by the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP), were planted in a lot of 600 m2, 5 plants were grown for each accession, but when entering the reproductive stage, three plants were chosen to be evaluated. The descriptors studied and results obtained were as follows: In the qualitative descriptors 100% of the accessions presented indeterminate growth with moderate climbing capacity and triangular leaf, flower color 31.58% was lilac, 23.16% purple, 22.11% white and 1% was bicolor, pod color 72% of the accessions were yellow mottled with colored stripes and 28% were yellow, pod shape 98.95% were curved and 1.05% slightly curved, and seed shape 72.94% were oval, 18.82% cuboid, 7.06% round and 1.18% kidney shaped. In the quantitative descriptors, the flowering period was between 21 to 35 days, the bunches per plant had average values between 2 to 27, the height of the plant was between 1.20m to 2.40m, the diameter of the stem between 4 to 5 mm, the time to maturity was 41 to 44 days, pod length ranged from 3.56 cm to 12.78 cm, fresh weight of pods per plant ranged from 100 g to 650 g, seed content per pod ranged from 2 to values greater than 6, seed weight ranged from 3 g to 58 g, and yield ranged from 5 tm/ha to 30.71 tm/ha.
