The main objective of the research is to analyze the types of vernacular materials that could be applied for the design of an ephemeral space in the Tena canton, this is done in order to foster and promote ancestral culture and construction traditions in its inhabitants. In the first place, by means of an investigation into the types of existing materials in the Tena canton, it is possible to identify the most suitable ones that are used in the construction sector because their physical properties, characteristics and ease of use allow them to be used in construction; Furthermore, thanks to field research, which was carried out through interviews, observations, and development of fact sheets, it helped to support and complement all the information previously investigated. Finally, all the investigated information served to develop the example of the application of vernacular materials in the design of the ephemeral space, allowing the fulfillment of the objectives initially set out in the research project.
