Item Estudio de peligro sísmico determinista para las estructuras del cantón Ambato – parroquia La Merced – sector Cashapamba y barrio Jesús Obrero – ubicado en las avenidas Unidad Nacional, Cevallos, Julio Enrique Paredes, Julián Coronel, Humberto Albornoz, Vicente Maldonado y Cristóbal Colón(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica. Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Galarza Barrionuevo, Lenin Andrés; Garcés Chávez, Juan EnriqueIn the present research project, the evaluation of a deterministic spectrum was carried out based on the selected faults that affect the study area with the spectrum proposed by the NEC-2015. The analysis was performed in 3 structures of the place where its vibration period was calculated, corresponding to the acceleration Sa (g) of each spectrum. To carry out this analysis, the standard penetration test was performed in 5 places, where the soil was classified as sand and the Nspt value was obtained to be applied in empirical equations that allow to calculate the average speed of the shear wave Vs30 of the soil profile, 5 geological faults capable of producing a significant terrain movement were taken into account, based on the source-site distance of the study the magnitude of moment for each fault was calculated based on the WellsCoppersmith methodology, by Using parameters such as distance to the epicenter, focal depth, the soil movement prediction equations (GMPs) were used: Akkar and Bommer (2010), Boore and Atkinson (2008), Kanno (2006), Youngs (1997) and Zhao (2006) obtaining acceleration spectra and through an envelope of all the acceleration spectra a specific spectrum of maximum accelerations is obtained which is compared with the spectrum of the NEC15. Individually it can be said that the Fault of Ambato with a value Mw = 6.5, is the most critical for the study area since it has a closeness of 2.4 km being this the lowest. The accelerations given by the specific spectrum for buildings that have structural periods between 0.10sec - 0.5sec are greater than those obtained according to the NEC-15.
