    The present research work deals with "Empirical care in respiratory diseases in children under 5 years of age in the community of Illagua Chico", whose main objective is to determine the empirical care applied by mothers of children under 5 years of age in respiratory diseases. To carry out the present study we used quantitative, descriptive research. Same as he sat with 100% of mothers of children under 5 years of age belonging to the community. The instrument applied for the data collection was the one that consisted of 8 open and closed questions. In conclusion, 82% of the population uses empirical care, being of great importance for the inhabitants because their interculturality is maintained, through their aptitudes, beliefs, traditions, experience and knowledge that are transcended from generation to generation obtaining results positive to treat diversity of diseases, among the main ones we have the infusions of lime, mallow and licorice, among the home remedies are used menthol, garlic with milk, cocoa butter, hot water baths, baths with infusions of plants and application of newspaper or flannel on the infants chest.
