Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2017) Flores Fiallos, Alex Mauricio; Navarro Peñaherrera, Carlos PatricioIn this paper the effect on flexural strength is investigated by adding commercial steel fibers, shavings and recycled steel fillets, with a design strength f 'c = 240 kg / cm² and reinforcing steel with creep force Fy = 4200 kg / cm², for which a design, elaboration and curing of laboratory specimens was carried out. Reinforced concrete beams were made with addition of commercial steel fibers shavings and steel filings with 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of partial replacement of the cement. Optimal beams with 15% exhibit flexural deformation in a range of approximately 2 mm, thus considering these percentages as the optimum for partial substitution with artificial pozzolans. The partial replacement of the cement with 10% of steel shavings was considered as one of the ideal ones, since the workability of the concrete with this percentage was the most adequate and the value of the flexion was of 1.39mm, thus improving in a 25.6%, tested at 28 days of curing in comparison to a normal beam. In conclusion, partial replacement of cement with 15% of steel shavings can be considered as the ideal ones to improve the flexural strength.
