Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2017) Chicaiza Espinoza, Silvana Esther; Cevallos Cabrera, Jorge WashingtonThe purpose of this project is to determine the level of performance of a structure, as well as the maximum displacements produced and the shear at the base of the structure, using the method of the Spectrum of capacity also called Equivalent Linearization; And compare the results with the data obtained when performing the analysis through the Design by Performance (Design Based on Displacement). Therefore, prior to the corresponding analyzes, we proceed to determine important parameters of the structure such as its predimensionamiento and the spectrum to which the structure will be submitted at the moment of an earthquake with a certain period of return. Once these calculations have been made, the data obtained are entered into the ETABS software, where it is necessary to verify that the mass acting on the structure is 90%, also the maximum displacements to be achieved by the structure, the torsion that originates and the Fundamental period of vibration of the structure. Stabilized the structure is performed Pushover analysis by which the capacity curve of the structure is obtained and then the performance point that indicates the level of safety reached by the structure after the earthquake. In this way, the design is concluded through the capacity spectrum. Next, for performance design (displacement-based design), NEC 2015, section earthquake resistant (Ecuadorian Construction Standard) presents a series of equations by which the point of displacement of the structure and a basal shear for a seismic spectrum calculated. Finally, the results obtained by these analyzes are compared.
