(Universidad Técnica de Ambato,Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación Social, 2022-03) Chávez Rodríguez, Leslie Odalis; Viteri Chavez, Walter Francisco
Although for many melodrama is a media genre that does not carry much weight, for others it is present in each of the cultural industries, since it allows knowing the reality that people live through the narration of political, social and cultural discourses, interfering In his tales of the otherness that is part of the popular group excluded by the elite, the marginalized take on the leading role on stage and constitute themselves as a fundamental part of the history of a nation. The melodrama, through its stories in the cultural industries, incorporates a number of problems and solutions that thousands of people live in everyday life, so this research work focuses on analyzing the melodramatic discourse as the main exponent of the social context of Latin America, this occurs through the qualitative methodology focused on the analysis of the cinematographic narratives of the Ecuadorian films "Crónicas" and "A tus Espaldas". The melodramatic matrices divided into the individual and collective order were the essential instrument for the breakdown of the themes exposed in the plot that are linked to modernity, so that the viewers get soaked, have fun and even shed tears with many stories that they present cinema, theater and novels, since they identify with the plot and appropriate each character, for which Latin America forged its cinematographic bases in melodrama, elaborating productions that have this narrative as their regulating axis.
