    Correlación entre el CBR, DCP y las propiedades índice y mecánicas de los suelos de las parroquias: Chiquicha, El Rosario, Salasaca, García Moreno y Benítez del cantón Pelileo, provincia de Tungurahua

    For the present research study, 12 subgrade soil samples were collected from different roads of the San Pedro de Pelileo canton, carrying out in situ tests corresponding to: Field density and DCP penetration index and in the laboratory the tests of: Moisture content , Specific Gravity, Granulometry, Atterberg Limits, Modified Proctor and CBR to determine their index and mechanical properties. Based on the data obtained, a statistical regression analysis was performed between 2 and 3 variables, obtaining as a result 25 correlation equations with relatively good reliability coefficients that vary between 63 and 98 percent. The different equations proposed will serve as support to verify and contrast the results obtained through tests, they will also serve as a basis for the preliminary design of the pavement structure. Finally, a comparison was made between two flexible pavement designs based on the values of the laboratory CBR and the correlated CBR, obtaining as results the same thicknesses of the pavement structure in the two designs, due to the fact that they present a minimal variation between the two. values. The proposed thicknesses are: sub-base layer = 15 cm, base layer = 10 cm and asphalt layer = 5 cm.
