The research focused on the study of academic procrastination, which is defined as the voluntary procrastination of academic tasks and the risk of addiction to social networks and the Internet, which in recent years has increased significantly among young people, causing dependence on these sites. The general objective was to determine the existence of the relationship between academic self-regulation, procrastination of activities that are part of academic procrastination and the risk of addiction to social networks in high school students. The approach was quantitative, with a non-experimental, descriptive-correlational and cross sectional design. A total of 205 students of both sexes, aged between 15 and 18 years, were evaluated. The instruments used were the Academic ProcrastinationScale (EPA) in its adapted version and the Adolescent Risk of Addiction to Social Networks and the Internet Scale (ERA RSI). The findings with respect to the general objective allowed us to determine that there is no correlation between academic self-regulation and the risk of addiction to social networks and the internet (rho= -0.127; p =.070), on the other hand, there is a positive correlation between procrastination and risk of addiction to social networks and the internet (rho= 0. 349; p<.001), regarding the specific objectives the predominant level of academic self-regulation is medium with 53.7%, in procrastination is high with 51.2%, also no statistically significant difference was found in the risk of addiction to social networks and internet between men and women
