The present investigation refers to the impact of parents' roles on the academic performance of fifth-grade students in Basic General Education at "Unidad Educativa Planeta Azul," located in the city of Ambato. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining bibliographic analysis to establish the theoretical framework (qualitative) and the collection of numerical data through surveys (quantitative) to interpret the findings. The methodology applied included bibliographic and field research. An exhaustive review of academic sources on the variables studied was conducted, alongside on-site investigation with direct interaction with participants. The research is descriptive in nature, allowing for an in-depth characterization of the main variables. Surveys were used as the primary data collection technique, targeting both students and teachers, with instruments validated by experts. The results show that most parents regularly review students' homework, attend school meetings, and consistently motivate their children to study and improve their grades. However, certain aspects, such as participation in extracurricular activities and frequent communication with teachers, revealed areas for improvement. Despite these limitations, it is concluded that active parental involvement has a significant impact on students' academic performance.
