Due to the existing environmental problems in the construction industry, the use of recycled coarse aggregates was chosen for the production of reinforced concrete beams. In this way, this research focused on the design of beams with which the flexural resistance was determined, with the compressive strength of the concrete used being 280 kilograms per square centimeter, adding spent catalyst from fluidized catalytic cracking as a partial substitute. of fine aggregate by 5 and 10 percent, and completely replacing conventional coarse aggregate with crushed coarse aggregate from recycled concrete elements. For this project, physical and mechanical tests were carried out on both natural aggregates and substitute aggregates, in the case of recycled coarse aggregate and spent catalyst, following the technical standards in force in Ecuador (NTE-INEN). In this way, the flexural strength of reinforced concrete beams prepared with recycled coarse aggregate and spent catalyst from fluidized catalytic cracking was evaluated. Substitute materials were obtained and tests required under the regulations were carried out, both on recycled aggregates and on natural aggregates. The results showed that the beams with 10 percent spent catalyst from fluidized catalytic cracking replacing the fine aggregate and coarse aggregate recycled from crushed concrete elements, presented a greater flexural strength at 28 days compared to the beams with 5 percent replacement and those made with conventional materials.
