| Abstract: | The present research work aims to determine the benefits of the application of the PECS system in the language area of a patient diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, this research being of a qualitative type, it describes the characteristics of said disorder and the complications that occur. They present a level of the language area. ASD is defined as a group of developmental disorders that cause deficiencies in different degrees of skills and social interrelationships in verbal and non-verbal communication in children and adolescents. This was diagnosed in a 5-year-old female patient, with involvement of the language area, it was evaluated using the Nelson Ortiz Test, obtaining as a result a significant deficit in the four areas of development, at the same time the need is seen To find a method that allows you to enable these areas, the benefits that previous studies have had on the application of the aforementioned system are detailed, which will improve the quality of life of the patient, with each activity proposed in the treatment plan, thus working on cognitive functions such as: attention, concentration, memory |
| Description: | El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo determinar los beneficios de la aplicación del sistema PECS en el área de lenguaje de una paciente diagnosticada con Trastorno del Espectro Autista, siendo esta investigación de tipo cualitativa, describen las características de dicho trastorno y las complicaciones que se presentan a nivel del área de lenguaje. El TEA se define como un grupo de alteraciones del desarrollo que ocasionan deficiencia en diferente grado, de las habilidades e interrelaciones sociales, en la comunicación verbal y no verbal de niños y adolescentes. El presente caso fue diagnosticado en una paciente de 5 años de género femenino, con afectación del área de lenguaje, se evaluó mediante del Test de Nelson Ortiz, obteniendo como resultado un déficit significativo en las cuatro áreas del desarrollo, al mismo tiempo se ve la necesidad de encontrar un método que le permita habilitar dichas áreas, se detallan los beneficios que han tenido estudios anteriores sobre la aplicación del sistema mencionado, mismos que mejorarán la calidad de vida de la paciente, con cada actividad propuesta en el plan de tratamiento, trabajando así en las funciones cognitivas como: atención, concentración, memoria |
