Abstract

This paper addresses the topic of community participation and creative tourism as fundamental tools for strengthening the cultural and tourism value of the Inti Raymi celebration in the Salasaka community. Its general objective is to analyze the relationship between community participation and creative tourism initiatives to strengthen this ancestral festival, considered an essential element of the Salasaka people's cultural identity and a resource with high creative potential. The importance of the study lies in understanding how ancestral knowledge, community organization, and symbolic practices can be integrated with cultural innovation strategies without compromising the sacred nature of the ritual, thus promoting a sustainable local development model. The methodology employed was qualitative, based on direct observation of the Inti Raymi celebration, interviews with cultural actors, and documentary analysis of historical sources related to both the festival and creative tourism. The results show that the community maintains a strong participation in the preparation of the ritual; however, limitations are identified in the processes of pedagogical dissemination, as well as in the creation of interpretive tourism products, highlighting opportunities to incorporate activities linked to orange tourism. Likewise, it is determined that the development of communication tools such as an informative magazine contributes to improving the visitor's understanding in order to reinforce the appreciation of the living heritage of Salasaka.
