| dc.description | The present research project exhibits an econometric analysis to identify the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth, measured by gross domestic product per capita (GDP per capita) and renewable energy consumption (% of total final energy consumption) in the period 2000 to 2015 for the Ecuadorian economy. In the first instance, a general review of the literature related to the topic was carried out and it was found that there is no consensus, since each author or each country that has carried out said study presents different results regarding their relationship. This research is articulated around two main axes: one, intended to review the theoretical relationship of economic growth and energy consumption and to review the evolution of these variables, and the other, to an econometric analysis, in which it is carried out a model of Autoregressive Vectors (VAR) for Ecuador. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El presente proyecto de investigación exhibe un análisis econométrico para identificar la relación del consumo de energía renovable y el crecimiento económico, medido por el producto interno bruto por habitante (PIB per cápita) y el consumo de energía renovable (% del consumo total de energía final) en el periodo 2000 al 2015 para la economía ecuatoriana. En primera instancia se efectúo una revisión general de la literatura relacionada al tópico y se constató que no existe ningún consenso, ya que cada autor o cada país que ha realizado dicho estudio, presenta diferentes resultados respecto a su relación. Esta investigación se encuentra articulada en torno a dos ejes principales: uno, destinado a revisar la relación teórica del crecimiento económico y del consumo de energía y a revisar la evolución de dichas variables, y el otro, a un análisis econométrico, en el cual se realiza un modelo de Vectores Autorregresivos (VAR) para Ecuador. | es_ES |
