Abstract
La investigación analizó la Actividad Emprendedora Temprana (TEA) en el Sector Servicios de Tungurahua desde una perspectiva de género y edad, con el propósito de determinar cómo estas variables influyeron en la creación de negocios en etapas iniciales entre 2010 y 2024. Se aplicó un enfoque cuantitativo basado en datos secundarios del SRI y del INEC, que permitió calcular emprendimientos nacientes, nuevos negocios y tasas de TEA. Los resultados mostraron que las mujeres se concentraron principalmente en subsectores de servicios con menor capitalización y que la edad generó variaciones claras en la dinámica emprendedora según cada subsector. Se concluyó que el género y la edad incidieron de manera diferenciada en la TEA y que persistieron barreras estructurales que limitaron la sostenibilidad del emprendimiento femenino, evidenciando la necesidad de políticas más inclusivas para fortalecer el ecosistema emprendedor provincial.

The research analyzed Total Early-Stage Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) in the Tungurahua Services Sector from a gender and age perspective, with the aim of determining how these variables influenced the creation of businesses in their initial stages between 2010 and 2024. A quantitative approach based on secondary data from the SRI and INEC was applied, which allowed for the calculation of nascent ventures, new businesses, and TEA rates. The results showed that women were mainly concentrated in service subsectors with lower capitalization and that age generated clear variations in entrepreneurial dynamics according to each subsector. It was concluded that gender and age had a differentiated impact on TEA and that structural barriers persisted that limited the sustainability of female entrepreneurship, highlighting the need for more inclusive policies to strengthen the provincial entrepreneurial ecosystem.
