| dc.description | This paper seeks to explain the incidence of gender and rurality on employment in Ecuador. To this end, we begin with a description of the evolution of the labor participation rate, followed by a descriptive analysis of the factors that generate differences in access to employment in the Ecuadorian labor market, and finally, we determine the incidence of gender and rurality on employment in Ecuador through a logit model based on the ENEMDU survey as of December 2019. The results of this research show that the variables gender and rurality are significant at 1 percent, 5 percent and 1 percent in the probability of employment in Ecuador. It is concluded that gender and rurality have a significant impact on employment in Ecuador, where there are also considerable differences between the male and female genders and with respect to the area where they live. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo busca explicar la incidencia del género y la ruralidad en el empleo en Ecuador. Para ello, se empieza con una descripción de la evolución de la tasa de participación laboral, posteriormente, se realiza un análisis descriptivo de los factores que generan diferencias en el acceso al empleo en el mercado laboral ecuatoriano, finalmente, se determina la incidencia del género y la ruralidad con el empleo en Ecuador a través de un modelo logit que toma como base de datos la encuesta ENEMDU al mes de diciembre de 2019. Los resultados de esta investigación muestran que las variables género y ruralidad son significativas al 1 por ciento, 5 por ciento y 10 por ciento en la probabilidad de empleo en Ecuador. Se concluye que el género y la ruralidad inciden de forma significativa en el empleo en Ecuador, donde además se manifiestan diferencias considerables entre el género masculino y femenino y con respecto al área donde habitan. | es_ES |
