Impacto económico del turismo en Ambato a través de inteligencia artificial y big data: Un análisis de patrones de visitantes

| dc.description | This research analyzed the behavior of tourism and its impact on the economy of Ambato canton during the period 2018-2024, as well as its future projection until 2030. The objective was to evaluate the economic impact of tourism through econometric analysis tools. The methodology employed time series models using Ordinary Least Squares and Random Forest to analyze the relationship between the value added of the tourism sector and the total value added of the canton. The main results showed high seasonality associated with holidays and a predominance of domestic tourism with short stays, as well as a positive relationship between tourism activity and cantonal economic growth. It was concluded that tourism constitutes a relevant component for the local economy and that the use of econometric and Artificial Intelligence tools allowed for anticipating its future behavior, providing useful elements for the planning and economic development of Ambato canton. | |
| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación analizó el comportamiento del turismo y su incidencia en la economía del cantón Ambato durante el período 2018 a 2024 y su proyección hasta 2030. El objetivo fue evaluar el impacto económico del turismo mediante análisis econométricos. Se utilizaron modelos de series de tiempo por mínimos cuadrados ordinarios y random forest para analizar la relación entre el valor agregado del sector turístico y la economía cantonal. Los resultados mostraron alta estacionalidad turística, predominancia del turismo interno y una relación positiva entre actividad turística y crecimiento económico. Se concluyó que el turismo constituye un componente relevante para el desarrollo económico de Ambato, siendo las herramientas econométricas y de inteligencia artificial útiles para anticipar su comportamiento futuro. | |
