Abstract
El presente proyecto integrador se desarrolló en base a la necesidad de un manual de políticas contables asociadas a las NIIF en la Escuela de Capacitación del Sindicato de Choferes Profesionales del Cantón Baños de Agua Santa, el cual tiene como finalidad el fortalecer los procesos administrativos y financieros de la institución mediante lineamientos claros y acordes con las Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera para las Pequeñas y Medianas empresas (NIIF para PYMES). El propósito inicial fue establecer directrices que puedan permitir mejorar el control interno, la organización de la información y la correcta aplicación de políticas contables dentro de la institución. En primer lugar, se realizó el diagnóstico a la institución en el cual se aplicaron entrevistas al departamento contable, al gerente general y al secretario de economía para identificar las necesidades existentes en el proceso financiero, adicionalmente, se observaron los estados financieros y su plan de cuentas. En segundo lugar, se efectuó la aplicación de las NIIF considerando las secciones relacionadas con las actividades y el plan de cuentas de la institución. Finalmente se elaboró el manual de políticas contables estableciendo la normativa vigente que contribuye al
fortalecimiento institucional. Los resultados obtenidos reflejaron que la implementación del manual permitirá mejorar la toma de decisiones, optimizar el registro contable y garantizar el cumplimiento adecuado de las disposiciones establecidas por las NIIF de tal modo que genere mayor confianza y seguridad en el manejo financiero de la institución.
Description
This integrative project was developed based on the need for an accounting policies manual aligned with IFRS at the Training School of the Professional Drivers' Union of the Baños de Agua Santa Canton. Its purpose is to strengthen the institution's administrative and financial processes through clear guidelines consistent with International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs). The initial objective was to establish guidelines that would improve internal control, information organization, and the correct application of accounting policies within the institution. The integrative project is structured around three objectives. First, a diagnostic assessment of the institution was conducted, which included interviews with the accounting department, the general manager, and the treasurer to identify existing needs in the financial process. Additionally, the
institution's financial statements and chart of accounts were reviewed. Secondly, IFRS was applied, considering the sections related to the institution's activities and chart of accounts, and the importance of compliance in the presentation of its financial statements and accounting records. Finally, an accounting policies manual was developed, establishing the current regulations that contribute to institutional strengthening. The results obtained showed that the implementation of the manual will improve decision-making, optimize accounting records, and ensure proper compliance with IFRS provisions, thereby generating greater confidence and security in the institution's financial management.
