The research focuses on analyzing the use of the tax credit in the income tax return and its impact on tax collection in Zone 3 of the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) during the years 2021, 2022 and 2023. One of its objectives is to analyze the annual variations of the income tax in general of Zone 3 where they will observe the sub-taxes that are part of it, with an analysis of which component has the greatest impact within the perception and the provinces with the greatest collection evolution. Tax collection based on VAT and Income Tax has its impact on the tax credit considering that in the period between 2021 and 2023 there were several circumstances that motivated evident fluctuations since by 2021 we began to emerge from the pandemic and there were modifications in the tax law. The analysis focused on the comparison between forms 101 and 104 of tax credits in the province of Tungurahua not only because it is the one with the highest incidence within the Zonal in terms of collection, obtaining results that vary between each of them based more on the type of tax and as well as the impact of the period, whether due to internal or external factors. Concluding with the forms of use of the tax credit based first on the law and its corresponding regulations and therefore determining the correct and preferred use by each taxpayer in which several forms were determined that could contribute to better control and a more correct use for both the taxpayer and the governing body.
