Abstract
The investigation arises from the need that people have to be guaranteed the right to honor, regardless of the activity to which they dedicate themselves, because at present, it is an issue that has become politicized to the point that cases more emblematic are closed to conflicts between those who governed and the media. The main objective is to determine if the media lynching is related to the right to honor and how the violation of said right can be avoided. For this, a qualitative research was carried out that allowed to contextualize both variables to know how they have been related in Ecuador throughout history and to bring out the favorable and negative things. As a result, an article is proposed to be incorporated into the COIP, in order to punish those who violate the right to honor of people through media power.

La investigación surge por la necesidad que tienen las personas de que se les garantice el derecho a la honra, indistintamente de la actividad a la que se dediquen, pues en la actualidad, es un tema que se ha politizado hasta el punto de que los casos más emblemáticos se cierran a conflictos entre quienes gobernaban y los medios de comunicación. El objetivo principal es del determinar si el linchamiento mediático tiene relación con el derecho a la honra y como se puede evitar la vulneración de dicho derecho. Para ello, se efecto una investigación de tipo cualitativa que permitió contextualizar ambas variables para conocer cómo se han relacionado en el Ecuador a lo largo de la historia y sacar las cosas favorables y negativas. Como resultado, se propone un artículo para que se incorpore en el COIP, con el fin de sancionar a quienes vulneren el derecho a la honra de las personas a través del poder mediático.
