The general objective of this research was to describe best practices and adventure tourism in tandem paragliding at Cerro Nitón, in order to analyze safety conditions, the tourist experience, and the application of appropriate procedures during this activity. The importance of the study lies in the need to strengthen the quality of tourism services and promote safe and sustainable practices within adventure tourism, considering the growing interest of national and international tourists in this type of recreational experience. Methodologically, the research was conducted using a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Structured surveys were administered to tourists who participated in the paragliding activity, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with specialized pilots, using a non experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive, correlational, and phenomenological scope. Among the main results, it was evident that tourists perceived the safety, the pilots' professionalism, and the organization of the activity positively. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between best practices and tourist experience satisfaction, as demonstrated by Pearson's correlation. Furthermore, the interviews highlighted the importance of training, equipment maintenance, and risk management in ensuring safe flights. It was concluded that best practices significantly influence the quality and satisfaction of adventure tourism, and a best practices manual was proposed to strengthen the safety, sustainability, and organization of tandem paragliding at Cerro Nitón.
