This work will be carried out within the framework of the research project “THE MANUFACTURING OLIGOPOLIOS IN EL ECUADOR. A PERSPECTIVE OF PERFORMANCE AND MARKET POWER”, which was funded by the Directorate of Research and Development (DIDE). This research work has the determination to analyze the concentration of the sugar market, through the vertical integration strategy, prices and inflation, for which secondary sources of information from the public sector were used. The concentration of the companies in the sector analyzed was measured through the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (IHH) and the influence of this against the price, inflation and vertical integration variables was tested using the Wilcoxon test. Finally, it was found that the Ecuadorian sugar sector is an oligopoly, dominated by five companies during the 2007-2017 period, and oligopolistic strategies have been evidenced that have allowed them to obtain a greater market share, however, there is no evidence of power over the prices of sugares_ES
