Modelo de distribución logística de productos de la línea arquitectónica en la empresa Fairis C.A.

Abstract

The company FAIRIS C.A., with a 95-year trajectory, stands out for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service. However, the absence of an optimal logistic distribution model to analyze the costs associated with each trip of its fleet of 4 company-owned vehicles has been identified. The company is uncertain whether outsourcing is the best solution for its distribution. This study aimed to design a specific logistic distribution model for the architectural line in FAIRIS C.A. Through interviews, process sheets, and flowcharts, a detailed understanding of the current situation of the company was obtained. Bibliographic-documentary research and field research were employed. The three-month field research allowed the collection of essential data to develop a tariff model that analyzed fixed costs, variables, and route parameters. The tariff comparison between the company-owned fleet and external carriers revealed that outsourcing the service represents an optimal cost-benefit solution, reducing expenses and freeing up resources to focus on core business operations. The technical-economic analysis showed that outsourcing reduces logistical costs versus in-house fleet, maximizing profitability. With the proposed target tariffs, an annual saving of $26,794.93 on the Quito route, $30,708.42 on the Guayaquil route, and $13,397.88 on the Cuenca route is projected. This represents a total annual saving of $70,901.24 under the conditions described in the study. Outsourcing through "Tender" bidding allows for the selection of the best provider technically and economically. Implementing this process is proposed to reduce operating expenses and focus resources on the core business, optimizing logistic management and positioning of the company.
